.- ♦ DIVORCE COURT. By Telegraph—Press' Association. Wellington, Wednesday. The Ofic-f Justice, Sir Robert Stout," today granted decrees nisi in the following divorce cases:—Barlow v. Barlow, wife's petition; Gardener v. Gardener, husband's petition; Kellaway v. Kellaway, husband' petition; Wright v. Wright, wife's petition; Swain v. Swain, husband's petition; Boyd v. Boyd, wife's petition; Baker v. Baker, wife's petition; flrigg v. Grigg, wife's petition; Vine v. Vine, husband's petition; Lenihan v. Lenihaii, wife's petition. TRAMWAYS DISPUTE. Auckland, Wednesday. A meeting of tramway employees this morning decided to give 14 days' notice of their intention to strike unless their demands were conceded'. Tliis is subject to the confirmation of a meeting of the balance of the employees to-night. WA7ROA HARBOR BOARD. Wairoa, Wednesday. Wairoa- Harbor Board has accepted the tender of C. F. Pulley for construction works, opening the river mouth, and clearing. The amount of the tender is £79,000. LADY CARROLL AT HOME. Gisborne, Wednesday. Friends ami supporters of Sir James Carroll were entertained by Lady Carroll yesterday afternoon. There was a large gathering and Lady Carroll, to commemorate her gratitude in respect of the honor bestowed upon her husband by the King, and more recently .by the electors of Gisborne in returning him unopposed announced the gift of an acre of valuable land, in addition to a similar arsa donated by the Natives, on behalf of a children's creche. ELECTORAL CASES. Eltham, Wednesday. At the Magistrate's Court to-day D. F. Patterson, charged with sending in a claim for enrolment containing a false statement on behalf of another person, was fined £2O and costs. Other electoral prosecution are being heard. TRADING ON SUNDAY. Gisborne, Wednesday. In the case, police v. Williams, a confectioner, changed with Sunday trading, the magistrates held that the law did not allow the selling of soft drinks on Sundays. Williams was convicted and fined the nominal amount.
