SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — The barometer fell to 28.47 at 8.30 a.m. to-day at the Bluff, which is the lowest pressure ever recorded in New Zealand. Northerly and westerly winds, strong to a heavy gale, have been experienced, and rain has fallen in many parts of the country. Present indications are for high westerly winds and squally and showery weather. The barometer will probably rise for a short time in the south, but another low pressure area is due to follow in the south.
