The preliminary reports of the trades uaion and railwaymen's ballet indicate that the majority have rejected the commission's report, and recommend stoppage. Those at Bradford and Sheffield are almost unanimous against the report. Stratford and East London protested against the executive's action in regard to the agreement at the conference. Similar protests were made by Sheffield. CARTERS' STRIKE THREATENED. Received 4. 10 p.m. London, December 4. Two thousand carters at Liverpool have given notice that they will strike oa the 9th unless their revised demands are fully conceded. "A MENACE TO LIBERTY." Received 4. 10 p.m. London, December 4. The Bradford branch of the Amalgamated Railwayinen resolved' that the projected volunteer police force was a menace to the people's liberties, and recommended the formation of a trades union physical protection league to meet on equal terms the 'bullies" organised by capital. WHARF LABORERS' DISPUTE. PRESIDENT OVERRULES OBJECTIONS. Received o. 12.45 a-.m. Sydney. December 4. A special board lias beet' constituted to deal with the wharf laborers' dispute, and has cotamenced work. Counsel for the Inter-State Steamship Owners contended that existing conditions were not being observed by the men, and no claims were btfore the board in a legal way. and announced that it was intended to fight the matter step by step. Judge Scholes, president, overruled the objections, and said he intended to sit until the work was done, and proceeded to the consideration of claims.
