IMB, the provisions of the Sliops ami Offices Act in respect to the weekly half-holiday, shall during this week be deemed to refer to THURSDAY AFTERNOON, that being the polling day appointed under the Legislature Aet. That is to say that all shop assistants must receive the half-holiday for the week on that day. and all shopkeeper; who are required by the Shops and Offices Aet to close their shops for the weekly half-holiday must also do so from 1 o'clock on that day. FACTORIES. It is not necessary for any f.irtory to close during working hour- on polling day. but all factory employees must he allowed a reasonable time oIT during working hours for the purpose of recording their votes, such lime not to exceed one working hour.
