DISTRICT NEWS
PUKEARUIIE. \Fr(m Our Own Correspondents). Our representative (Mr. W. T. Jennings) had a splendid meeting at the factory at Pukearuhc on Friday morning. Almost everyone in the district turned up, and at the conclusion of the meeting a very hearty vote of thanks and confidence was carried without a dissentient. Mr. W. J. Parsons presided. I see that other districts are cracking up the amounts from individual suppliers to factories. Well, we have two who are doing over 20001bs to our factory, with a 4 and '4.1. test respectively. Not bad for a season like this. The Woodville Bacon Company's receiving station at Urenui is fulfilling a long felt want for this district, and the farmers are giving it whole-hearted support, Mr. W. J. Freeth having supplied two fine lines of 111 and 20, prime stuff, for the Christmas trade, and at 4%d per lb says there is money in the business.
