It appears that, owing to another end more important event being arranged for December 7, there was for a while a very big chance of the general elections falling very flat in New Plymouth. Fortunately, however, the difficulty has been overcome by those who are controlling the more important event kindly agreeing to alter thie date of their function to Thursday, 14th inst. The public will therefore be able to get the election over on Thursday next and then attend the Horticultural Society's spring show in the Theatre Royal on the following Thursday, 14th inst.
