The investigation of the charges 'of graft against Mr. Oliver, ex-Minister of the Interior, have been abandoned, but will probably 'be reopened .before a special committee of the House. AN ATLANTIC STORM. London, November 30. The Celtic, during her voyage to Queenstown, met with severe gales, and was thrown on her beam ends. The cabin was gutted and three boats lost. WATER POWER IN CANADA. Ottawa, November 30. The Conservation Commission reports that the Canadian share of Niagara's water-power is 1,016,000 horse-power, and off this one-half is already in the handa of private owners. Recommendations have been framed to prevent the private absorption of the remaining Dominion water-powers.
