IN FAVOR OF RESTORATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masiterton, Friday. A meeting of the executive committee of citizens appointed by lyusaness people of Masterton who .favor restoration was held this morning, at which the following resolution was passed: "That the report published by Mcsrs. Trewin and Mclntyn'c, of Feilding, through the Press Association in regard to the HummondMcManawa.y challenge is not true in many resDects. We find that the first photograph referred' to evidently is Little's garage. One part of the building was occupied as a gjwage and another part luid been at one time a baikec's shop, and at another time was occupied by a Kiutdler. It was distinctly two shops. The Central Hotel photo referred to the hotel only, and the shops could not we'll have been left out. Long's meat mart was empty, and still is. The Temple Chambers, Trewin and Mclntyre say, have never been empty, but the photograph shows a card in the window bearing the legend, "To let: apply E. Waddington." The bottles were photographed on or about August 7, 1911. A similar pile has collected since, and can be seen to-day. In addition to the empty business premises photographed, the following is a list of others now vacant: Sonoma Boarding House, Nichols' Auction Mart, Mac Lean's Auction Mart, Mrs. Adams ('fancy goods), Dominion Cafe, Pauling and Taylor's grocer's shop, Pine street. Also a most important industry has been closed, viz., Lamb's Tarurua Vineyard, comprising eight itcres.

The chairman stated that the meeting was for those only who were in favor of restoration. The Rev. Parsons, who was received with groans as he attempted to explain, then retired with about thirty others. The meeting subsequently appointed a committee to carry out arrangements for bringing electors to the poll, and' confirmed the action of the executive in contradicting statements contained in a report of delegates who recently visited Masterton from Feilding. THE PHOTOGRAPH SQUABBLE. Palmerston N., Last Night. Mr. H. McMannway, of Hastie's Hotel, Feilding, who challenged the Rev.
