CLIFTON CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent). Tho annual general meeting of the Olifton Rowing Cliub was held in the club hall on Tuesday evening. The following report was- read by the secretary (Mr. H. Spurdle):—ln submitting the annual report and balance-sheet your committee are pleased to say that the year has been a successful one. The club were again successful at the local regatta, winning five races and being placed secondMn three, the prize money amounting to £33. Members' subscriptions showed a falling off compared with last season. It is hoped that members will pay more attention to this matter. The plant has been kept in good order and) is up to requirements. The plant consists of one Best and Best wicing four, one clinker racing four, two practice racing fours, two practice pair-oars, one single scull and two whaleboats. The hall has proved a profitable investment, the receipts being £34 odd for the year. The balance of receipts show a credit of £9O improvement. Ample provision has been made in the way of depreciation, a total of £SO 15s having been wiped off in this direction. After making this provision and allowing for liabilities, the club's assets above liabilities stand at £505 16s lid, which must be considered satisfactory. The committee trust that the energy previously displayed by members will further increase during the coming season and the liabilities further reduced.
The general account showed receipts to be £57 as Cd and the expenditure £54 4s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £3 3s 4d. The hall account showed receipts as follows: —To balance brought forward £l® 8s 6d, transferred from general account £2B liOs, loan £6O, hall hire £34 2s 9d, leaving a balance at September 31 of £231 10s; total £363 18s sd. Expenditure: Debit balance September 31, 1910, £-212 15s 4d, timber, labor, etc.. £ll<> 9s 3d, hall furniture £5 18s tid, sundries £3 5s Id. interest and bunk charges £25 10s 3d; total, £363 18s 3d.
The assets totalled £BOG 17s 7d, and the liabilities £3Ol Is 4d, leaving assets over liabilities, £505 Ids 3d. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. T. Jennings; president, Mr. A. YV.
