OPENING LOVE LETTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court, Charles Berry Sinimonds, found guilty of. opening circulars find suffering a young woman's love-letter to- be opened by a railway porter who was disappointed in his suit, was brought up for sentence. Prisoner, who was a cadet at the Hikurangi Post Offiice, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, and was warned ae to his future behaviour. Joel Victor Rowley, a railway porter, who admitted having opened the love-letter in question, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Both prisoners were informed that they would be expected to pay the coats of the presecution. THE HOLLAND CASE. Auckland, Last Night At the Supreme Court to-day, the circumstances in connection with the death of Elsie Alexandra Holland, at a house in Kingsland Terrace, on June 13 last, again engaged the attention of Judge Chapman and jury, when Martha Jane O'Shaughnessy, formerly known as Maxwell, was charged with murder. Under this charge prisoner had been tried on two previous occasions, but on both the jury disagreed, and a re-trial was ordered. The Crown Prosecutor, in outlining the case, said that prisoner was charged with murder, as the result of an alleged illegal operation. The case was not concluded when the court rose. INVEKCARGILL SESSIONS. Invercargi'U, Last Night. In the Supreme Court John Wixou was acquitted of the charge of carnal knowledge of a girl at Stewart Island.
