WOMAN'S WORLD.
(Conducted by "Eileen.") SOCIETY NEWS. NEW PLYMOUTH. Owing to the very stormy weather during the week, all' social functions have either l>cen postponed or Bpatfsely a<ttcndied. The Juvenile G.F.S.—In St Mary's Hall last Tuesday evening the associates and senior member* of the G.F.S.. were entertained by the juniors, which took the form of a concert. And very enjoyable it was, as the children sang and acted with, all naturalness- ami without affectation'. After a most appetising supper, the "social tables" were reversed, and the seniors amused the little ones in all sorts of parlor games, so you can imagine it was with the greatest reluctance the children left for their respective homes. Amongst those present were: Mrs. Dabb, Miss Wood, Miss Wil6oa, Miss Wade, Miss McKellar, Miss Curtis, Miss Marshall, Miss A. Hemptoo, Miss Bewley, Miss G. Roy, Miss Glasgow, Misses Bedford (2), Miss Knott, Misses Lennon, Miss A. Crawford.
People's Day.—New Plymouth is note< by tourists as well as to 'residents fo its over bestowal of rain, so there is on great satisfaction, although rather < grim one, that this heaven-born gift ha: prevailed at all the People's Days righ throughout the Island during the agri cultural shows. While, to tlio woman' mind, it is more keenly felt as she is \m able to wear some charming appare she has had. purposely made for the oc casion, she knows her neighbor is in tb same predicament, so the prevention i not so sorely felt.
