LOSS OF THE MARGIT.
THE CAPTAIN CENSURED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Adelaide, November 22. The position of the Margit is unchanged. She lies on an even keel, with sail set. The cargo is practically undamaged.
The Marine Board enquiry found that her loss was caused by careless navigation and general neglect of the recognised rules of navigation. On the night of the disaster the master was not on deck, and in the evening watch the vessel was left in the charge of an uncertificnted officer.
The Court discredited the suggestion that a current had caused the loss of the vessel.
