Mr. C. Carter is expected to arrive in Xew Plymouth on November 30. llr. W. T. ,Tones, one time a wellknown Australian racehorse owner, is dead. A London cable stated that the Standard's Paris correspondent reports that Madame Sarah Bernhardt will shortly marry Lou ToHengen, the Flemish actor, agied 26. Mr. I. E. Hardy, of Eltham, is again in bad health, and in all probability it may be necessary for him to be removed to the Xew Plymouth Hospital, savs the Eltham Argus. Mr. J. Strang, M.A., president of the Duncdin Draughts Club, died suddenly on Saturday evening. Deceased, who was sixty-one years of age, was playing a game of draughts at the club rooms, when he suddenly became ill, and expired shortly after admission to the hospital. Mr. Strang had been engaged in coaching university students. He leaves a widow and two sous, one at Tauinarunui (and late of New Plymouth), and the other of Eltham.
