CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
WAREHOUSEMEN'S UNION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. The Warehouse Assistants' Union dispute was before the Conciliation Council to-day. Some time was again taken up with the question of whether the assistants endorsed the demands and whether the union was wanted. At one stage, while a statement of protest against the union was being made by an assistant, the assessor and agent for the union left the room and returned later. In the course of this statement it was said that out of 400 persons employed b}| 17 firms 353 signed the petition against the union. The objection to inclusion in the case was filed by storemen in the employ of fruit merchants. The Council is' now considering the objections in committee.
