Mr, Meagher, Chairman of Committees in the Assembly, is claiming £2OOO damages against Colonel Onslow, a member of the Assembly, for alleged slander during the Liverpool Plains by-election campaign. It is complained that defendant at a public meeting said the Labor had selected a criminal as Chairman of Committees. The hearing of the case is proceeding.
