SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:—' The westerly winds which have been both persistent and strong during the past three weeks still continue. Districts with a westerly aspect, and in the southern parts, have experienced considerable rainfall, but warm and dry conditions, except for occasional thunderstorms, have ruled elsewhere. Present indications are for strong westerly jvinJs, veering to southerlies shortly,jin most parts of the country. Cloudy and unsettled weather Is probable at times in all parts, and . heavy showers, especially on the West Coast and in southern districts. The barometer is very unsteady, and a slight fall wiH probably precede a steady rise .. .generally.
