EARTHQUAKES IN EUROPE.
BUILDINGS BADLY DAMAGED. THE PEOPLE SEIZED WITH PANIC. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, November 17. An earthquake took place at Vienna, Milan and in the Rhine Valley. The inhabitants at Stuttgart and Frankfurt rushed into the street?. A number of houses were cracked, and the telephone system damaged. Berlin, November 17. Reports have been received of panics and damage by the earthquake throughout- Central Europe. There were shocks in Belgium and France. The audience and actors at Mul house, Augsburg, Stuttgart, and othertowns fled from the theatres. Many passed the night in the open squares. The Hohenzollern Castle at Hetehingen was badly damaged, also manv churches. DAMAGE NOT SERIOUS. Received 19, 5.5 p.m. Paris, November IS. The earthquake was severe in Eastern trance, but the damage was not serious. DAMAGE AT CONSTANCE. Received 19, 5.5 p.m. Berlin. November 18. At Constance the earthquake threw to the street a colossal figure of Germania surmounting the Post Office. It was particularly violent at Wurtcmbcrg. At Ebinger hundreds are camping aiound fires in the open country.
