FIRES.
BOARDIXGHOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, i Two houses on Clifton Terrace, Wellington, joined by a passage and used as a boardinghouse, were destroyed by fire this afternoon. Some .sheets" that were airing l>y the fire in the laundry became ignited, and the flames spread' rapidly fanned as they were by a high wind! Ihe houses were completely destroyed, together with all their contents, including the effects of fifteen boarders. The 1 buildings were owned by H. Miller, and insured for £IOOO in the United Office.! 1 olkinghorne, who occupied the premises, bad his furniture and effects insured in the United Office for £3OO.
