" THE WOMAN IN THE CASE." STORY OF THE PLAY. On Monday night, at the Theatre Royal, J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present to New Plymouth playgoers the dramatic success, "The Woman in the Case," which will be presented by their latest English Dramatic Company, headed by MUs Mabel Trevor and Miss Elinor Foster. In this play care has been taken in the first two acts to impress upon the audience the mutual happiness of Jul hi n Rolfe and Margaret, bis wife. Julian sojne few years previously has been indiscreet enough to write love letters to a thoroughly unscrupulous lady by the name of Claire Forster. Unfortunately he had not dated them. It was not long before lie discovered the true character of the woman, and 'he immediately brought the brief acquaintance to a» end. He did more, for when he learned, that his friend Lond bad become so infatuated with Claire that lie intended to marry her, he enlightened Long as to her past, and did all in his power to break the engagement. Under the evil influence of the woman Long had taken furiously to drink, and in a mad moment he committed suicide in her presence. Now was Claire's opportunity to be revenged on Julian. He bad shown himself her enemy, and she was determined to do her best to ruin him. so she gave it out that it was not a case of suicide, but of murder, at the bands of a jealous and disappointed lover. "The Woman in the Case" will be produced on Monday night only. On Tuesday "A Fool There Was" will be the attraction.
