The Timaru Waterside Workers' Union invites the shipping agents to confer hefore the 2.5 th inst. on the new agreement re wages, liours and other conditions. They ask for Is i)d and 2s (id per Jiour for overtime (G p.m. to 10 p.m.) for ordinary stevedoring work, 2s aiid 3» for manure, cement and coal work, and after 10 p.m. overtime at the rate of 3s (id and 4s; also re the number of gangs for different work specified and the contents of slings, and straight-out preference on the usual conditions.
