Judge Seholes. in reserving his decision, questioned if he were justified in altering the award, owing to the effect it would have on trade conditions generally, but 7s Cd a day was a wage below which workmen should not be expect to go. . ;', AN UXPOrULAR FOREMAN. Ihe manager. of the \ocaJ, branch of the 'Union Company' received a ' letter from the Waterside Workers' Union demanding the removal or "one -of the company's foremen. The manager asked that a deputation be appointed to wait on him, which was agreed 'io. It was reported that a meeting of .'.the union will be held to discuss 'the proposal made. There is every likelihood of satisfactory arrangement's made.
