ATHLETICS
The Alf. Bayly Memorial Scholarship sports, which had to lie postponed owing to bad weather, will eventuate on the Recreation Sports Ground on Saturday. The preliminary events will he commenced at 11.30 a.m., and the finals and more interesting events will he decided in the afternoon. Candidates from all parts of the province are competing for the scholarship, and some clean-and exciting sport should be witnessed. The Rugby Union, which controls the scholarship, is making a small charge of sixpence and threepence to cover expenses, and there should be a good attendance of Saturday half-holiday people.
