J. C. WILLIAMSON'S DRAMATIC i COMPANY. j "THE WOMAN IN THE CASE." | J. C. Williamson, Ltd., are about to bring to New Plymouth their latest dramatic company, bended by two English dramatic stars, Miss Mabel Trevor and Miss Elinor Poster. The season will be for two nights only, commencing on Monday next, the 20th, and the opening production will he the sensational dramatic paly, "The Woman in the Case." The author, Mr. Hyde Fitch, lias a wellearned reputation in both England and America. He knows how to build a play with a view to bringing 'out its greatest effects and possibilities. In "The Woman in the Case,, the dramatist lias daringly used his materials. He has taken two women of entirely opposite types and characteristics. He 'has placed them one against the other—one, with all the womanly traits of the best that' is in ?ier sex; the other, a veritable shedevil, who seeks .the innocent life of a man in the frenzy of revenge. Each represents the entirely opposite point of view of womanhood. And so cleverly has the dramatist done his work that each has the sympathy of the audience. The second night, the freat vampire play, "A Pool there was," will be produced.! The box plan will open at Collier's on Friday morning.
SAUNTERS' BIOGRAPH PICTURES. A complete new set of pictures are ad- ' ortised at Wbitelcy Hall to-night, no ss than five "star" films figuring on the ; ogrammc, The Vitagraph Co. has supp.ied "The Changing of Silas Warner," a powerful dramatic release, and "The Peace Offering," or "The Absconding of! Bridget," an amusing comedy. The Lubin Studio are represented with "The Fascinating Batchelor," and the Eclair Co. with "A Byzantine Tragedy." The other star picture is "The Queen of Ninevam." In this production Ambrosio: has once again come right to the front Vrith a really magnificent film production, specially acted, finely costumed, with a wealth of scenery. Founded on one of those old Assyrian legends that have moved the modern world to its heartscore with their power and audacitv, the Ambrosio Co. has followed the dramatic story with fidelity, presented it simply hut with remarkable realism, and all through it is full of unusual and stirring effects. Other items are: "Chemical Action," "Urban Science," "Homes of British Industry," "Kineto Industrial," "The Bakers, Comic Equilibrists," and "Basilica of S. Marc." Last night's programme will he presented to a Waitara audience in St. John's Hall to-night.
