Mr. H Goodacre was in the chair. The candidate dealt at length with Mr. Okev's speech, analysing it point by point with unusual acumen and force. He accused Mr. Okey of political insincerity in that on October 21, 100S, he had stated that he did not desire to turn the Government out, but merely to strengthen the Onposition. Mr. Okey now declared that the Government must go. Mr. Bellrin«er showed that many of Mr. Okev's claims to fame could not be substantiated, and particularly mentioned that when the famous oil deputation (of which Mr Bellringer was „ member) approached the Minister, Mr. Okey was uot present. Tn carefully traversing Mr. Okey's speech the candidate hit hard and often and certainly carried his au,li,„ee with him! A vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Bellringer and the administration wis carried by 30 to 4. Mr. Bellringer will speak at Bell Block to-night and will deal analytically with the various statements made by Mr. Okey.
