DR. MAWSONS ENPEDTTION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, November 11. Dr. Mawson is still £9OOO short of the sum required for his expedition. The total promised, including stores, amounts to a little over £40,000. Dr. Mawson, speaking at the Royal Society reception, said he had no great anxiety over the deficit, because he thought that certain States, which had not yet contributed, would do so when they saw what good work was being done.
The Japanese Vice-Consul, in replying to the toast of "Success to the Japanese Expedition," referred to the brotherhood of science, which made no discrimination of race or color. All had one common aim, the advancement of humanity.
