A very pretty wedding was solemnised mi Thursdajy afternoon at the South' Road Methodist Church, when Mr. W. A.-Hunter (of the locomotive stall', New Plymouth), eldest son of Mr. W. Hunter, of Te Wera, was married to Miss Helen Elizabeth Donovan (better known as Miss Xoilie Hooker). The bride, who was given away by Mr. Fred Honker, looked charming in a dress of cream silk ninon over silk taffeta, with the usual wreath and veil, and carried a pretty shower bouquet. She 'was attended bj£ her sister, Miss Kii'te Donoyan, who word a pretty dress of cream tad'eta and green and blue picture hat trimmed with si Ilk libl ion and pink roses, also a ruby and pearl brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. 'Hie Rev. F. P. Kell.iw tied the nuptial knot, and Mr. G. W. liriffin acted as best man. The bride's mother received her guests in u li.ind*ome dress of grey and black silk lustre <utd heliotrope toque with floral crown of rosebuds. A sumptuous wedding break-fast was partaken -of, when the. usual toasts were duly honored. The bride's travelling dress was a brown costume, with black hat and pale blue for-get-me-nots. The presents were numerous and costly, and included a cheque for a substantial amount. The happy couple | left by the 4.20 train on their lumeyI moon tour for Jla wera, en route fop Wellington.
