The biggest -chime of city improvement undertaken for manv years has been definitely agreed upon between the Harbor Hoard ami the Railway Department. The Hoard has agreed to reclaim :S'i acres at Mechanic's Bay at, the Department's expense for the extension of goods yards. A block of buildings covering seven acres will be swept away. The lessees will be duly compensated by the Department for loss of buildings. The Department's yard space will be increased from IS to 44 acres.
