The Meteorological Office has issued the following weather summary and forecast:—Strong westerly winds have obtained predominance to-day. Showery weather prevailed on the west coast ami in the southern districts of the .South Island, and local showers in parts elsewhere. The barometer has risen in the north, but has fallen steadily in the ■• south. Present indications are for increasing westerly and squally winds '' everywhere, unsettled and cloudy weather with rain probable on the west coast and in the southern districts. Changeable weather is probable elsewhere, with showers in parts. The barometer is unsteady, and a further fall is anticipated.
