Mr. J. B. Hine, M.P., was in New Plymouth on Saturday. The Key. ,T. McNickle, M.A., has resigned from the position of Principal of the Maori college at Otaki. Sir John Logan Campbell, Auckland's "grand old man," celebrated his ninetyfourth birthday on Friday. He Hill attends his office daily for transaction of business.

Mr. V. 11. Walker, for the post fifteen years manager of the Wanganui Herald Company, has severed his connection with the paper and goes to Hawera, having acquired a proprietary interest in the Ilsuvcra Star. Mr. H. V. Duigaii succeeds him on the Herald.

Mr. B. Wells, who was for so long connected with the Taranaki Meat Bazaar as accountant tluit he seemed to have become ailmost part of the business, has been appointed manager of the Egmont Brewery. Mr. Joe Ramson has been appointed country traveller for the brewery business.

Mr. D. M. Graham, who lias been manager of the Masterton branch of the Bank of Australasia for the past six years, has resigned his position m order to take 'over the management of the Wairarapa. Daily Times. Mr. R. W. RobsoD, who Ims been managing-editor during the last fifteen months, will continue to act as editor. Mr. Graham will enter upon his duties in about a fortnight's time.—Dominion, Dr. Wall,is, formerly Bishop of Wellington. is, in obedience to medical orders, baking life very quietly for a month or two, but is already much better (says the Church Chronicle). Mrs. Wall it; is in the best of health, was in London recently and attended meetings of the Girls' Friendly Society. Dr. Wallis, who has been licensed to the Archdeaconry of Wilts, is to help the Bishop of Salisbury in his episcopal work, but is not undertaking any parochial duties. The Bishop and Mrs. Wallis are staying at Olifton, Bristol, at present, but are looking for a homo near Trowbridge, or Westbury.
