CHOPPING AND SAVING EVENTS (under the Rules of the N.Z. Axemen's Association). Nominations close with the Secretary, Rahotu, and Mr. T. E. Hardy, Eltham, on December 12, 1911. Nominations must be .accompanied by the necessary fees and performances, otherwise they will not be accepted. In the DOUBLE-HANDED SAWING EVENTS name of mate must be given, otherwise nomination will not be accepted. Handicaps will appear in the Taranaki Daily News, Budget and Opunake Times on or about December 21. Acceptances close on December 26. CYCLING EVENTS (run under the rules of the N.Z. Athletic and Cycling Union). Nominations (accompanied by the necessary past performances) close on December 12, 1911. Handicaps will appear in the Taranaki Daily News, Budget and Opunake Times on or about December 21. Acceptances at 11 a.m. on day of sports. GENERAL.—For correct order of starting, see books. Five competitors or no event. The Committee hold the right to postpone or alter programme. A pistol shot will be fired two minutes before each event, anv competitor not on the mark will be left. This rule will be strictly adhered to. AM games will be charged 10s each. For the convenience of the competitors, Mr. F. E. Hardy, Eltham, will receive nominations and acceptances.
