Four staff officers of the New Zealand Defence Forces arrived from England on Wednesday. Captain Hamilton, infantrv brigade major for Wellington, and sometime aide-de-camp to Lord Islington, arrived by the B.M.S. Athenic, after a trip Home on leave. With him came Airs Hamilton (nee Hiss Elgar, of Featherston). Another officer who comes to New Zealand for the first time is Captain 'jreArthur Onslow (lfith Lancers) who joins the staff as major for the! Mounted 'Brigade in.Christehurch. Captain Onslow was a New South Wales boy, who went to Africa with one of the contingents, and afterwards went into the Imperial service. Captain Maidlow and Lieutenant Wallingford arrived by « . na ' €il P tain Maidlow (Roval Artillery) is to be assistant director of ordnance under Lieutenant-Colonel Johnson, at general headquarters, and Lieutenant Wallingford, who is ioiniii" the New Zealand staff corps, has been as" sociated with the School of Mnsketrv at ITvthe for some years, and is one of the best know authorities on the rifle.
