RICKARDS' VAUDEVILLE CO. The box plan for the visit of the Harry Rickards' Vaudeville Co. on Monday at the Theatre Royal is now open, and if the advance booking is an indication of a big house the brief visit of this combination should play to record business. The combination is said to be a very strong one. consisting of twelve imported star acts, all under special and exclusive engagement to the Arm of I Harry Rickards. During their Australian, as well as during their New Zealand seasons, they have all been signally successful in their act, and the whole of their entertainment is thoroughly interesting from beginning to end. In addition to providing a succession of novel turns the management has been particularly careful in eradicating everything of a vulgar nature, and it is seen by northern press reports that no more refined vaudeville entertainment has ever been seen in the Dominion. The lady gymnast seems to have completely supplanted the i male, if not in actual physical develop- j ment—at least in artistic perception of I what the public wants to see in stage performances. There are plenty of instances of this on the vaudeville stage. 1 In the performance of Aloide Capitaine, | the lady gymnast of this company, the Rickards management claim to have one of the most attractive acts they have j ever imported. In gracefulness and artistic, perception nothing approaching this young lady's performance has ever been seen in the Southern Hemisphere. '
