MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT.
• PLUCKY HAMMOND. ; By Telegraph-Press Association, j Palmerston N., Last Night. : A nwtor-car driven by Mr. McGregor, of Wangamn and containing Mcslrsl Bathgate, solicitor, of Masterton, £ .Hammond, aviator, and Irvine, the chaf*feur, capsized over an embankment on. <- the road between Bunnvthorne apd Ash* hurst this evening. The "car ivaa traveling from Wanganui to Greytown. Mc* Gregor's leg was broken above the ankle, Hammond was severely bruised and rem dered unconscious for a time, and Bath. gate was badly stunned. Irvine escaped with a few bruises. McGregor and Ham* mond were taken into Feilding in'Dr« Wills' car. Bathgate got up and walked away after the accident and has not sincq been seen. It is supposed he took sheltefl for the night at a neighboring house. 1
