WHEAT AND FLOUR. London, October 29. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,600,000 quarters, for the Continent 1,255,000 quarters, Atlaatic shipments 229,000 quarters, Pacific 90,000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe for the week amounted to 1,150,000 quarters, including Argentina 26,000 quarters, Russian 285,000 quarters, Danubian 245,000 quarters, Indian 42,000 quarters, and Australasian 70,000 quarters.

Lamb.—The market is dull and very little business is doing. Canterbury sd, other than Canterbury 4%d. The stocks of lamb on hand are light. New season's Rivier Plate shipments are Belling at 4%d.

Beef.—The market remains very flat. Chilled supplies of River Plate beef are heavy. Nominal quotations for New Zealand: Hinds 3y 2 d, fores 2%d, chilled hinds 3V 2 d, fores 2y g d. Butter.—The market is quiet but steady after a decline. Danish 1375, Siberian 119s, Australian 1275. Cheese. —The market is quiet, and the demand is improving, but prices are unchanged. Canadian 09s to 70s. Hemp.—The market is quiet, with small business doing. Holders are firm. Nfew Zealand good fair on spot per ton £BO sb, fair grade £]9 ss, fair current Manila £2O 5s 4d, October-December shipments fair good £2O 12s od, fair grade £l9 12s 6d, fair current Manila £2O ss. The output from Manila for the week was -24,000 bales. , ~ Cocksfoot Seed.—The market is firm owing to the recent drought. An increasing demand is anticipated during the, coming season. Danish is quoted at 755.

Kauri Gum.—The market is quiet ■ but steady. Three hundred and twenty packages were offered and 50 sold at Thursday's sale. Dark brown selected re-scraped £0 to £8 7s Od, dark brown three-quarter scraped £Bos to 92s fid, dark brown chips drossy 35s to 455, rescraped pale amber J £ll to £ls, threequarter pale scraped £8 to £fl, diggers' chips good 40s to 50s.
