In the professional light-weight boxing contest to-night, for a purse of £3O, Jack Griffon (Wesstport) knocked out Lou O'J-lalloran (Hawke's Bay) in the seventh round. lIEG'ARTY v, MAXWELL. Christchurch, October 26. A. 0 Maxwell, amateur light-weight champion of New Zealand, was declared beaten on points by ,T. Hegarty (Australasian champion) in a six-round go to-night at the Sports Club tournament. .Maxwell easily outfought his opponent who was saved by the gong, and he showed better work as a fighter in three of the six rounds. Maxwell put up a particularly sporting fight, and the decision was not popular.
