On the same day at my Stratford dairyyards there was a fair yarding of dairy stock. Heifers calved made £5 3s to £7 10s; springers, £5 2s Gd to £9; dairy cow, £lO 10s. On Wednesday, the 25th.. I held a clearing sale at Omata on account of Mr. W. J. Gregory, when there was a large | attendance of buyers. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a good yarding, and despite the- wet weather there was a good attendance. Mixed yearlings made 3.">s' to "fls Gd;l yearling steers, £2 7s; yearling heifers, j £2 15s; empty heifers. £3 7s to £3 12s; springing heifers, £4 to £9; store tows, £2 5s to £2 16s 6d; forward cows, £3 7s to £4 7s Oil; dairy cows, £5 to £5 10s; hulls, £4 Is to £5; pedigree yearling Jersey bull. 14gns. On the same day I held a sale of pedigree .Jerseys at my Stratford Havmarket yards, but owing to the wet weather the attendance was small and a number "f the animals catalogued did not come forward. The top price was obtained for the pedigree Jersey cow ''Genoa Daisy," sold on account of Mr. E. O'Meara,* of Waverlcy, which brought 55gns, while her heifer cnlf six .weeks old, on account of the same vendor, brought Sftgns. The majority of the cattle yarded were yearling to 15-month bulls, for which the demand was not keen. On account of Messrs. o'Don.nell Bros, bulls brought 12 to 30gns; on account of Messrs. Vieker and Hazelton, Midhirst, bulls made 11 % to 17gns; on account of W. Say well, 10 to llifeniß; on account Mr. C. Goodson, Hawera, 30gns; on account Mr. -J". Cole, Stratford, lSVagns; on account Mrs. E. S. Asplund, Stratford, 7gns; on account Mr. A. D. Walker, Ngaere, 1 lgns; on account I Mrs. Richmond, Midhirst, 23gns. LOAN" & MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd. (.Stratford branch) report:— On Friday. 2(Hh inst., we held our usual monthly sale in our Tc Wera yards, when there was p. small yarding, owing to the boisterous weather during the few days preceding the sale. Yearling steers (small) realised 34s fid and a fair line 55s (id; yearling heifers 55s (id, 2-year empty heifers 70s, springing heifers 7<ls to 105s.
AVe held our usual weekly springing heifer sale in our Stratford yards on Saturday, 21 st inst., when there was a yarding of 41 head, most of which were sold at from l'iils to 132s (id for heifers, and for anything decent in dairy cows from 150s to 170s. Owing to the continued rough weather, farmers are ■afraid to further stock up, consequently there is no tendency for prices to harden yet. Oil Monday, 23rd inst., we held our first bull fair in our Stratford yards, when there were 78 animals yarded, most of which were sold at full market values. The cattle, with few exceptions, showed the severity of the weather, and consequently were in lower condition than is usual at this time of the year. Anything showing Ilolsteiu or Ilolstein,Jersey strains were keenly competed ior. The following prices were realised: Ayrshire bulls, sgns; Shorthorns, good quality hulls on account of Messrs llann Jiro.-.. 7gns. to 12gns.; Holstein-Jersey cross bolls lYzXn*; grade Jersey bulls, f>gns. to 7gn-".; purebred Jersey bulls 7gn- tn I2f.ni-; yearling Shorthorn bulls 4gns. There was a nice line, of Holstein bulls offered on account of Messrs Hann Bros., bred by Mr. Henry Johnston, which met with strong competition from local speculators, resulting in one falling to a Iluiroa bnver at 15'/!igns. and another to a Toko buyer at 12gns. We hold a supplementary bull fair on November 2ft.

Since our last report we have disposed of a considerable number of 15 to 18months Ilolstein-,Jersey heifers for export out of t.iio dis .riot. Several lines of wethers, hoggets and ewes have also been disposed of, and we have to report a keener demand for classes of sheep, also grown bullocfr' ■
