Misses Barker and Grant (Cliristchurch) equal 2; humorous song (lady or gentleman), F, Jilandford (Wellington) 1, Helen Garner (Dunedin) 2, Florence Pacey (Dunedin) 3; piano solo under ten, Violet Hunerv 1, May Evatt 2, Mollie Channon 3, all of Wellington; mandoline solo, Miss Twose (Cliristclmn-h) 1. Mr. Sparks (.Christchurch) 2; original poem, out of 42 competitors the first prize fell to a little girl of 12, .Toyce Eugers (Wellington). Mr. W. F. Chambers' (Wellington) 2, Mr. S. Ci. August (Invercargill) 3. There were large audiences in the afternoon and evening, though the weather was most unfavorable.
