LONDON MARKETS. By Cable—Press, Association—Copyrivlii London, October 25. At the tallow sales 1103 casks were offered, and all sold. Mutton, fine 38s Od, medium 30s; beef, fine 36s 3d, medium 34s Od. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry. —At the mart on Saturday we had an extra heavy entry of all classes of poultry, ducklings and table cockerels being in good demand. Prices were as follow:—Hens 2s 2d to 3s; ducklings, Is to 2s, according to age; broody hens, 2s 2d to 3s; ducks, 2s Id to 2s 4d; drakes, 2s 4d; chicks, 9d.
The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Furniture. —On Wednesday, on account of Mrs. Logic, at her residence in Cutfield road, we held a clearing sale of all her house furniture and effects. Bidding was spirited throughout, and the articles offered met with keen demand. Fruit.—During the week this has been in fair supply on account of a large shipment of American apples arriving. We quote: Bananas, green 12s to 12s d, ripe 3d lb.; oranges, Island repacks 16s Od to 17s ; mandarins, 8s 3d to <Js Od; lemons, 7s; NX sweet oranges, 3s 9d to 4s per box; new potatoes, 1 1 /, dto 2d lb; walnuts, Sd to B'/ 2 d lb.
