A DOCTOR'S DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dargaville, Yesterday. Dr. R. Harrison Gilpin, of Dargaville. died suddenly under tragic circumstances last night. He was found dead in his garden about 1i.30 this morning. It appears that the doctor left home last night shortly after 7 to visit a patient. He never returned to the house. Early this morning his eldest son went# to look for him, and found him Iving face down near the windmill. The body was then stiff and cold. A post mortem examination is being made.

SUICIDE OF AGED MAN. Christehurch, Last Night. A ca.se of suicide occurred near Akaroa yesterday afternoon, the victim being an o!d resident of the Peninsula named John Wilkin. Deceased was in the habit of taking a daily walk and not returning till late in the day, and so no notice was taken of his absence. Two of his sons, however, when returning home from work found their father hanging by the neck in a whave, quite dead. Deceased had been suffering from ill-health recently, and expressed his intention of ending his life if affected again. Deceased was 79 years of age. BED-RIDDEN MAN ENDS HIS LIFJ3. Wellington, Last Night Tins morning a retired civil servant, Mr. \on Kciscnberg, was found in his bed with a wound in his head, and he died at 1 o'clock this afternoon. The deceased, who was 55 years of age, had been bed-ridden for 'the past six years. A revolver with one chamber discharged was found by the bedside.

MAN DROWNED. Auckland, Last Night. A man named Alexander Smith, laborer, twenty-live years of age. was drowned in the harbor to-night. In company with a mate lie went out in a dinghy to a yacht. The sea was rough, and the dinghy was swamped. Smith clung to the dinghy, while his mate went for assistance, but no trace of Smith was found when help arrived.
