THE MELBA SEASON
IiEMARKABLE SCENES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 25, 11.10 p.m. Sydney, October 25. There were remarkable scenes ill connection with Madame Melba's appearance last night. Many had waited at the booking office since eight o'clock yesterday night to buy tickets at nine o'clock to-day, and waited all day at the theatre for the evening performance. One woman waited for eleven hours, and fainted when about to enter the door, finding she had lost her tickets. Thousands were disappointed.
