AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the <r"iicinl committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society was licit! cm Tuesday night, Mr. W. Ambury presiding. There wore also present: Messrs. W. Stanley, G. W. Browne, J. Connett. S. Brooks, G. Colson, ,T. It llill, B. .Toll, A. Lister, E. Elliott, L. Jackson, A. W. Woods, A. T. Moore, and 11. Giddy. Mr. W. P. Archibald wrote that at the Hawke's Bay Draught Horse Breeders' Association it was unanimously resolved to support the Canterbury Draught Horse Stud Book, and that he was appointed to represent IJawke's Bay breeders at any conference which might be held in the North Island, and was also proposed as one of the three North Tsland delegates invited by the Canterbury A. and P. Association to meet their Draught Horse Stud Book committee at the association's show in November next. It was hoped that breeders in the Taranaki district would be able to attend or would be properly represented at the meeting of North Island draught horse breeders to be held at Palnierston North during the course of the Man.iwatu Association's spring show. Messrs. Kcmpthorne, Prosser and Co. wrote donating four bags of their special manures, value £2. for competition at the forthcoming show.
The secretary was instructed to communicate with the Railway Department with reference to special trains for the forthcoming show. The following stewards were appointed—Judges, Messrs. G. W. Webster; number and measuring stewards, Messrs. F. Orbell and 0. W. Sole; draught horses, Messrs. l W. Stanley and A, Lister; Shorthorn! cattle, etc., Messrs. R. 11. Pigott and W. 1 Stanley, jun.; Jerseys, Messrs R. Cornwall. J. S. Connett and G. V. Stead; Ayrshires, Messrs. H. King, E. Griffiths, and L. A. Nolan; Holsteins and grade cattle, Messrs. A. 11. llalcombe, B. Whiteomlie, A. Street ami IT. Linn; sheep, Messrs. Featherstone and Guscott; pigs, I Messrs. X. W. Hill and A. N. Mills; dogs.l Messrs. J. 11. Bagley, A. Olivers and S.! Brooks; dairy produce, Messrs. Morgan and Burgess: weight-guessing, Messrs. Ehvin, J. R. Hill, and G. A. Adlam; miscellaneous stewards, Messrs Woods and Eustace; paddock and train stewards, Messrs. Wood. Colson, 11. H. Street, G. V. Stead, Guscott, 11. Joll and G. W. Browne.
