SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Government Meteorological Department issues the following weather summary and forecast:—A westerly lowpressure area has developed in the south, and strong northerly and westerly winds have prevailed with gales on the West Coast and at Stephen Island. Rain has fallen on the west coast.' and cloudy weather has spread over the Dominion. Present indications are for high northerly and westerly- winds, changing to southerly for a short time, and then backing again. Expect wet and stormy weather generally, and two short cold snaps in the south within the week. The barometer is very unsteady, everywhere falling and rising qnickly.
