ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A GUN ACCIDENT. By Telegraplt—Press Association. Hawera, Monday. (Lance Storm, aged 18, was admitted to the hospital last night suffering from the effects of a gunshot wound on the left shoulder, thigh, and wrist. He was pig-hunting and tripped over a stump. The case is not considered serious. RUN OVER BY A TRAIN. Timaru, Monday. On Saturday, as the north train was leaving Winchester at 5.50, a fatal accident occurred, Archibald Carter, aged •about 24 or 25, being run over and : killed. No one saw how the accident occurred, and it is unknown whether he fell off the train or whether he fell against the side of the train and was drawn under. Timaru, Last Night. Evidence take at the inquest on Archibald Carter, aged 28, killed on the railway at Winchester on Saturday night, showed that deceased was very drunk when he got off the train at the station. He was seen standing near the train. No one saw how the accident happened, hut apparently he fell between the,car and platform, and his clothing caught some projection on the guard's van. He was dragged2ooyards, over a cattle stop, and then fell clear, badly cut and bruised, his skull being fractured. He died h few minutes afterwards. The inquest is unfinished.
BOY INJURED BY MOTOR. Auckland, Last Night. A boy named Albert Williams, wnen leaving the Domain after the sport 9 tonight, was knocked down by a motorcar and received very severe internal injuries. He was operated on at the hdtepiial, and at a late hour his condition was serious.
