A cricket match has been arranged between the local team and the Mangorei team, for Monday, Labor Day, but present weather conditions preclude all probability of a match.
A concert and dance in aid of the Cricket Chili funds was held in the Hall on Thursday night. Owing to the rough weather th-:: attendance was meagre, and the management had some thoughts of postponing the affair, but finally decided to continue the programme. Mr. A. Morton, patron of the club, occupied the chair. The first portion of the evening's entertainment con-i>ted of a miscellaneous programme of vocal and instrumental items. The local contributors were assisted by Mc-si's. I lyrics and Taylor, from Inglewood. Mr. Hynes sang "Some Day" and "The Link Divine." while Air. Taylor sang "Anchored" and recited a comic version of "The Boy Stood on the Burning Deck." All these items were well received, and the audience appreciated the <]iiality of the voices. It is to be h&r/M that the gentlemen who so kindly responded to the invitation given them will favor us with further visits, when they will doubtless be received by a much larger audience.
