The preparations for opening the Canterbury Trades and Labor Councils' industrial exhibition next Thursday are in a. forward condition. It is expected that either the Prime Minister or Sir James Carroll will officially open the exhibition. Satisfactory entries have been received in the different com-! petitions, which will be judged next, Saturday night. To augment the prize, fund the Canterbury Brick Pottery, Pipe, Tile and Clay Workers' Union presented the whole of its exhibit, consisting of a j number of valuable artistically designed. articles, all made of Canterbury clay, 1 to the competitions' committee.
