ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

WOMAN'S SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Mrs. Ellen Egan, aged 55 years, who resided with her son, was found dead about 7 a.m. to-day in her home. At the inquest John Egan stated that his mother seemed to be in her usual health last night. Dr. Whetter, who was summoned to the house, and who had made a post mortem examination, stated that Mrs. Egan was dead when he arrived. He considered that death was due to heart failure from degeneration, accelerated by excessive indulgence in alcohol. A verdict to that effect was returned.
