In the Senate Mr. Millen made a slashing attack on the new Electoral Bill, wliich, he said, by abolishing the postal vote, disfranchised about thirty thousand women and infirm persons who used that method of voting at the last election. He complained that the fixing of the polling day on Saturday would prevent Hebrews and other religious sects from voting, while the right of a candidate to ask for a recount was practically abolished.
