EGMONT SHOW.
Each year the Egmont Agricultural and Pastoral Association are confronted with continued additions to their buildings and appointments on their show grounds, Haw-era, and this year is no exception to the rule. Men are busy on the grounds now and are rapidly pushing on new work. A whole row of the old cattle pens has been pulled down ami now well built pens are being put up tit the northern end. In the place of the old pig pens, new ones are being built in a. new position and when compiled will probably be the 'best show pens in the Dominion. All new pens to lie built now are being carried out according to a plan decided on some years ago, and in a few years time when those alterations are finally carried out the grounds will be completely altered and will offer splendid facilities for a show ground. In place of the old cattle pens two judging rings will be made, so that the public may have every opportunity of watching the adjudications in the various classes. A similar ring will be made for sheep. A permanent pavilion for dogs is now being built, with permanent benches and dog divisions. Klcctric light will be installed in this pavilion and also the produce shed, and with several nightwatchmeii exhibitors will have every confidence in the safety of their exhibits. In the main ring a L'oiid deal of turfing has been done for the better running in the harness classes. Schedules for the approaching show on :he Bth and 9th November are being Tccly applied for, and are still obtainable from the secretary (Mr. F. G. Treweek),' llawera.
