Fine but cold weather favored'the second day of the V.A.J.C. spring meeting. A good crowd attended in expectation of good racing, and a struggle between Comedy King, Aurofodina and other cracks in the Eclipse Stakes. Results:— Emo Hurdles, of 200 sovs; two miles 64 yards—Portlight, 10.7, 1; Nimrod, 9.11, 2; Daka, 0.3, 3. Six others started. Won by a length and a half, five lengths between second and third. Time, 3min. sSs?c. Mona Nursery, of Goo sovs; half mile. —Golden Gauntlet. !).l, 1; Gold Brew, 7.12, 2; Marasca, 7.13. 3. Sixteen others started. The winner took command when the field settled down, and stalled off challenges, winning by a length and t!:ree quarters, three lengths between second and third. Time, 48 3-ssec. Lciipse Stakes, of 000 sovs; 1 mile 3 furlongs.—Comedy King 1, Beverage 2, Cadoiria 3. . Also started: Aurofodina, Kuringai, Rifle, Indiscreet. Comedy King was the first to find his legs, but steadied. Rifle being allowed to lead past the stand from Beverage, Kuringai, Comedy King, Aurofodina and Cadonia. Six furlongs from home Beverage and Kuringai were together, three lengths behind being Comedy King and Aurofodina. Three furlongs more and Kuringai and Beverage were leading by two lengths, Ctidonio- and Comedy King fourth, going well. Aurofodina was troubled, and Beverage led to the home turn, where Comedy King, who was bumped back several lengths, went in pursuit and cut down Beverage by half the distance, and brilliantly won by a length, a length and a half between second and third, Kuiringai fourth. Then came Aurofodina, Indiscreet and Rifle, Time, 2min. 3%sec. The Australian Corinthian, of 175 sovs; one mile.—Swagger, 11.3, 1; Saltare, 11-11, 2; Brookong, 12.3, 3, Six others started. Brookong led to five furlongs from home, when Swagger took charge and won by two lengths, a length separating second and third. Time, lmin 45 l-ssee.

Coongy Handicap, of 300 sovs; 1 mile 3 furlongs.—Didus. 7.11, 1; Thistlebrook, 7.5, 2; Gray Bob, 7.11, 3. Fourteen others started. Hartfell made the running. Sunbath led into the straight from Durstan and Didus. The latter was away at the distance, and won by a length and a half, a neck separating second and third. Time, 2min. 22 l-ssec.

IMoonga Handicap, of 200 sovs; 6% furlongs.—Obsono, 9.7, 1; McCulloch, 8.3, 2; Twa Brigs, 7.13, 3. Eighteen others started. The winners came through at the distance and scored easily by two lengths, half a head between the next two. Time, lmin. Bsec.
