Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, presided over a conference between the Merchant Service Guild and the Union Steam Ship Company and other companies, which was held in private to-day. Various matters were discussed for nearly two hours, and an adjournment was then made till to-mov-row. Captain Watson represents the Merchant Service Guild. Messrs. Holdsworth, T>. Tike and G. Smith the Union Company, Mr. .Joachim the Westport Coal Company, and .Mr. McKcllar the Blackball Coal Company.
